Focus & Scope

Jurnal Sains Psikologi aims to facilitate the process of interaction, discussion, and advancement of psychological science within Indonesian society. The journal publishes empirical research that contributes to the understanding of human behavior and mental processes across various psychological domains.

Scope of Topics

The journal welcomes manuscripts covering the following areas of psychology:

  • Clinical Psychology: Mental health, psychopathology, therapeutic interventions, and psychological assessment
  • Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Workplace behavior, organizational dynamics, human resources, and occupational psychology
  • Educational Psychology: Learning processes, academic achievement, educational interventions, and school-based psychological services
  • Developmental Psychology: Human development across the lifespan, child and adolescent psychology, and aging processes
  • Social Psychology: Interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, social cognition, and cultural psychology

Research Requirements

Statistical Analysis Requirements

All submitted manuscripts must include statistical analysis that tests causal, predictive, or comparative relationships between variables:

  • For experimental studies: t-test, ANOVA, or more advanced experimental analyses
  • For non-experimental studies: minimum simple regression or equivalent predictive analyses
  • For meta-analysis: appropriate meta-analytic statistical procedures

Variable Requirements

While research may be interdisciplinary in nature, all manuscripts must include at least one psychological variable (personality traits, cognitive abilities, emotional states, behavioral patterns, psychological well-being, mental health symptoms, attitudes, motivation, self-concept, coping strategies, or psychological interventions).

Methodological Scope

We accept quantitative research using:

  • Meta-analysis: Systematic reviews with quantitative synthesis
  • Experimental studies: Randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs
  • Non-experimental studies: Correlational studies, comparative studies, cross-sectional surveys, longitudinal studies

Additional Considerations

  • Psychoeducational research across various psychological fields is particularly welcomed
  • Studies addressing contemporary societal issues through psychological perspectives are encouraged
  • All studies must adhere to ethical standards in psychological research

Exclusions

  • Purely descriptive studies without inferential statistics
  • Studies using only simple correlational analysis without predictive or comparative testing
  • Qualitative-only research
  • Research without psychological variables
